THE SAINTS OF GOD
Brothers, in this the sixth chapter of 1st Corinthians we are being told both of the power that we saints have been given, and the responsibility we saints have been given.
1 Dare any of you,
having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall
judge the world? and if the world shall be
judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
See that we will set in judgment of the world during Jesus' thousand year rein here on earth following the seven year tribulation period.
Therefore we should not be troubled at judging the small matters that pertain to our brothers now in this day.
We are told plainly here that we should judge our brothers rather than going to the courts of this world which are unrighteous, and not worthy to judge us God's saints.
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels?
how much more things that pertain to this life?
We will not only judge the world during this thousand year rein, but we will also judge the angels who are in service to Jesus here on earth in that day.
We saints will rule and rein with Jesus here on this earth.
4 If then
ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are
least esteemed in the church. 5 I speak
to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one
that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goeth to law with brother,
and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there
is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye
not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 Nay, ye
do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
We are doing wrong when we take our brothers to the law of this world. It is better that we would be defrauded by our brothers than to go to court seeking judgement against him.
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall
not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with
mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the
kingdom of God. 11 And such
were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12 All
things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are
lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
We were once one or more of the things listed above. We were unrighteous just as the world is unrighteous today. But, we have been made righteous by Jesus. Not of ourselves, but by our Lord and Savior.
for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for
fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord,
and will also raise up us by his own power.
Brothers, we shall be raised to meet Jesus in the air. Until that day we are to walk in our righteousness not unrighteousness.
15 Know ye
not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members
of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
Each of us who are saved are a member of the body of Christ Jesus.
If we war against our brother then we a member of Christ's body is fighting against another member of His body.
know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith
he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he
that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man
doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against
his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye
are not your own?
Brothers, our bodies are not our own to do with as the flesh pleases. No, God forbid!
We are the temple of God, and His Holy Sprit resides inside each of us who have been born again by the cleansing blood of Jesus.
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your
spirit, which are God's.
We have been bought with a price. Jesus paid for each of us with his life that we might be made righteous.
Brothers, walk always in this truth. We are in this world, but we are not of this world.
We are the saints of God now. Not tomorrow, but rather when you accepted Jesus in your life then where you counted as the children of God. Joint heirs with Jesus.
God bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus. Walk in this day as a saint not as a mere man of this world for you are no longer a man of the sinful flesh. You are righteous now.
