It has been said.
first step of apostasy is to get up a creed, telling us what we shall believe.
second is, to make that creed a test of fellowship.
third is to try members by that creed.
fourth is to denounce as heretics those who do not believe that creed.
the fifth is to commence persecution against such.
Brothers most churches in America have a creed that men have agreed upon to form a new denomination, or a new branch off of an existing denomination. They have agreed to believe differently from other believers, and they hold all who would worship with them to that man made creed.
I have told you many times how that we are to have fellowship with our brothers in Christ, and to love them as Jesus commanded us to do. If when the church that you attend forbids you to have fellowship with believers in Christ Jesus because that they attend another sanctuary, then this is apostasy. Jesus himself tells us plainly in John chapter 17 that we are to be one with each other, and one with the Son and the Father.
2 Peter 2:1
false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false
teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even
denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
Matthew 24:10 And
then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 1 John 2:19 They
went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they
would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain
that they all are not of us.
Their are those who we have known who followed after a certain man, or preacher, or teacher, and left those of us who try to walk Christ like through this life, following the written word of God, not man's creed.
1Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. 11 For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. 12 What I mean is that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
Christ is not divided! We who lift up Jesus are to be one, even as He and the Father are one!
1Corinthians 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
1Corinthians 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
1Corinthians 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For
the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having
itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own
passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into
Brothers, do not follow after your own passions and wander into myths of man. But, rather seek the truth of God's Word and endure sound teaching from the Holy Bible.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach
the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort,
with complete patience and teaching. 2 Timothy 3:5 Having
the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now
the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith
by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 1 John 3:9 No
one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and
he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 2 Timothy 2:15 Do
your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need
to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
John 3:36 Whoever
believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not
see life, but the wrath of God remains on him
John 1:14 And
the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as
of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1 In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Brothers, turn to the truth of God's Word, and do not follow after APOSTASY.
- The first step of apostasy is to get up a creed, telling us what we shall believe.
- The second is, to make that creed a test of fellowship.
- The third is to try members by that creed.
- The fourth is to denounce as heretics those who do not believe that creed.
- And the fifth is to commence persecution against such.
God Bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus, we have much work left to do before His soon appearing.
