ASK, SEEK, & KNOCK
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Matthew 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
We are told in verse 7 above that we only need to ask our heavenly Father and it shall be given us. He also says that if we seek we shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you, Jesus says. WOW! If we are born again believers in Jesus Christ and try our best to walk righteously each day then the above promises are ours. If we do what He tells us then He will do what he promised for each of us.
Please don't allow man to rob you of God's gifts, promises, and covenant's that he made with you and I. He promised these things to us because He loves us. His Holy Word tells us that he loved us before the foundation of the world that he created for us.
In verse 8 Jesus says again, that if we ask, we will receive, if we seek we will find, and if we knock it shall be opened unto us. He said this twice, so that we could not be convinced by anyone, that this promise was not given freely by God to us His children. This promise is ours. Yours and mine. Accept it, take it, and keep it. Please note the difference in what Jesus said in verse 8 compared to verse 7.
Do you see that in verse 7 He is telling us what we are to do. Ask, Seek, & Knock.
In verse 8 we have done those things. We have Asked, We have Sought, and we have Knocked. Do you see that even though He has promised these things to each of us we have to act in order to receive, it requires action on our part. We must act on his promises that he has made. We must ASK, SEEK & KNOCK in order to walk in his blessings and promises that are ours for the taking.
Brothers, verses 9,10,&11 makes the comparison between what our earthly father would do for us and what God our heavenly Father will do for us. There is no comparison actually. You might die for your son, but He has already died for you and we did not even have to ask. He loved us so much that he died that we might never have to know death. He died that we would live forever. WOW! Praise God what LOVE that is. Take his promises, and try each day that He has given you, and walk Christ like, to show God our Father that we love him as he has loved us. This is all that he asks of us his children.
Brothers, verse 12 tells us to do unto each other as we would want them to do to us. Live the best life that you can, and treat your brother and neighbor with love as Jesus and the Father, have treated and will treat you, with His unequaled love.
