Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Brothers, do you see here in verse 8 of Acts 1, that this is the very last statement made by Jesus to his disciples. His last words to them and us before he was caught up into Heaven was. You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto the uttermost parts of the earth. Wow! We are told by Jesus to be witnesses unto all of the world. This was the last thing that he said to his disciples and to us, be witnesses, be witnesses, be witnesses unto all of the world. Witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Here we are told that this same Jesus which is taken up into Heaven shall come back in the very same way from Heaven, when He receives us, the church, as we are caught away to forever be with Him in Heaven.
Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Acts 1:16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
Acts 1:17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
Acts 1:18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
Acts 1:19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
Brothers, do you see here that Judas bought land with the 30 pieces of silver that he received for selling Jesus into captivity. The world teaches us this day from birth, that we are to own property at all cost. The lost world is a liar, for satin is a liar and the truth is not in him. So to is the world in this day for they no not the truth of God's Holy Word. Please do as Jesus asked us to do when he said, "Be witnesses of me unto all of the world." Walk as Jesus walked brothers. Please stop walking as the world walks, in that they seek all that they can possess in both property and STUFF!
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Acts 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Brothers, be disciples of Christ Jesus in these last days, and use every possession that you have to be a witness for Jesus.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Brothers, please see here that when you repent of your sins and are baptized into Jesus Christ that not only are you saved from your sins but you also receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, God's very own Holy Spirit comes to dwell forever inside us. We are told that He gives us power, not only to perform miracles in His name but also to walk in power. He gives us power to be a living witness for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Be that witness that Jesus asked us to be in the very last sentence that he spoke to believers on this earth before he ascended up into heaven.
Brothers, Jesus, nor God the Father will be impressed by what you possess on this earth. After all the Word of God tells us that all things are His.
Lay up your treasures in Heaven, not on this earth.
God Bless you my brothers,

Happy New Year brothers. Be a witness.
