Luke 10:18 And he said unto them,I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said,I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Luke 10:23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately. Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

Luke 10:24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Luke 10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luke 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Brothers, Jesus tells us here in vs.18 & 19 that He gives us power to walk over serpents and scorpions, and over all of the power of the devil, and nothing shall by any means, hurt us as children of God.

He goes on to say in vs. 20 for us to not rejoice in the power that we have over evil spirits, but rather we are to rejoice in the fact that our names are written down in heaven as children of God. Praise the Lord!

Brothers, in vs. 21 Jesus gives thanks to God the Father that He has hid the power that we  have over evil spirits, from the people of this world who think themselves wise and prudent, and has revealed this power to the babes in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savour even before that they grow from a babe to a mature Christian in the word.

Brothers do you see that once you accept Jesus as Lord you have the power of Christ Jesus over evil spirits, the devil, serpents, and scorpions. He goes on to tell us that we need not rejoice over this power which is ours, but rather rejoice over the fact that our name is written down in Heaven.

In vs. 23 & 24 Jesus says privately to his disciples that they, (thus us also) are blessed that we have eyes and do see those things that He shows us. He goes on to say that many prophets and kings have desired to see and have not seen and have desired to hear and have not heard as we do hear now. WOW!

A lawyer then stood and asked Jesus in vs. 25, "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

Jesus asked him, "What does the law say"?

The lawyer answered Jesus, "Tho shall love the Lord thy God with all of thy Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength, and love thy neighbor as thy self."

Jesus answered the lawyer in verse 28, "You have answered right, if you do these things then you shall have eternal live."

Brothers, do this now, if you do not already, for the day of Jesus' appearing is so very close.

God Bless you my brothers, and my soon to be brothers. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savour now!
