BROTHERS

Brothers, the message today comes from the book of Ephesians Chapter 2. I believe this chapter tells us a lot about who we were, who we are, and who we are to become. It is a path that God has laid out for each of us to follow as we live this life, and as we ready ourselves for our eternal life to come with Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Brothers, we were indeed dead in our sins and trespasses. We were walking according to the course of this world. Yes we were following satin himself in disobedience. We had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, and of our mind, and were indeed by nature born the children of wrath, after the fall of Adam.

Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God loved us with his great love, and in the richness of his mercy, even when we were dead in our sins. He quickened our spirits with His Holy Spirit together with Christ Jesus, and by grace we are saved. It was by God's grace that we were saved through our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savour. Jesus is the only way to heaven. God has raised us up together to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  Do you see here that we have been raised up together to sit with Jesus in heavenly places. Not that we have to wait until death to sit with Jesus in heavenly places, but that we now sit with Him. When we accepted Jesus he came to abide in us and us in him. We can talk to God now just as though our spirit was there with Him now. Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God make intercessions daily for us unto God the father. It is as if we are there with Jesus because we are His and do now abide in Him and He in us.

In the ages to come God will indeed show us the exceeding riches of his grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. By that grace are we saved through our faith, not of ourselves or any work that we do here on earth. For if our good works here on earth could have saved us then Jesus would have died in vain. God forbid. We are his workmanship, and were born a new creature in Christ Jesus, to do good works as God ordained us to both do and walk in our good works. Please see here that we were ordained by God to do work for him. He has assigned work for each of us to do. Do it now!

Ephesians 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Ephesians 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Ephesians 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Ephesians 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Ephesians 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

We were without hope, lost, walking in the flesh as the Gentiles did and do till this day. Jesus abolished that wall which separated us from God, and we became one spirit with him even unto death on the cross when we accepted his payment unto righteousness. He us our peace and has made us and Jesus one, and there is no wall which separates us now. We as brothers in Christ Jesus are to be one together and also one with Him. God's Holy Word tells us here that we are one new man in Christ Jesus, verse 15. We are the body of Christ and are intertwined into oneness with Him. By this oneness God has reconciled both us and Jesus unto one body by the cross and thereby slaying the enemy who was satin, verse 16.

Brothers, we through Jesus and with Jesus have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Jesus intercedes for us even this day and will forever. We are no more strangers to God the Father, but rather fellow citizens with all the saints, and are of the household of God, verse 19. We are the church built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets of which Jesus himself is the chief corner stone of this church. We as children of God and are fitly framed together and growing unto a holy temple in the Lord Jesus. We are to be built together for God to live inside each of us as one through His Holy Spirit. Verses 20-22.

Do not allow man to separate you from your brothers in Christ any longer. It is the will of God that we be one with each other and with Christ Jesus our Lord. We are the body of Christ and Christ being the head of this body. How can we be one body as long as we fight and disagree with each other over some doctrine and tradition of man. How is this division among believers in Christ Jesus in this day any different that the scribes and priests of Jesus' day who did accuse and bring Him unto death. Brothers turn away from division among believers of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savour.

The only requirement for you to agree with a brother is this, Jesus Christ was and is the only begotten Son of God. He was born as a man and lived and taught on this earth some 33 years. He died on the cross at Calvary for our sins and iniquities, he was buried and did rise from death to live again and now sits on the right hand of God the Father. He is our intercessor alone with the Holy Spirit of God. He watches over each of us and will appear to receive us unto himself. Brothers, be one with your brothers. The devil desires to separate us from each other. Please don't allow this separation to continue.

God Bless you my brothers,

John Hipp
