BY THE SPIRIT, BY FAITH
Brothers, we are children of God because Jesus died for our sins, and the Holy Spirit of God convicted us of our sins, and then by faith in Jesus are we saved. Do you see that without Jesus no one can know God's saving grace.
No one can walk Christ like, because it is by Jesus' cleansing blood that we are made righteous. By His resurrection are we resurrected into a new creature after our confession of sin, and professing our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
This is how we lead the lost of this world to salvation in Jesus Christ. It is how that we were led to Christ when God's very own Holy Spirit convicted us of our sins. By the Spirit, by faith in Jesus.
Now follow alone with me as I teach you from the third chapter of the book of Romans.
Here beginning in verse 10 Paul is teaching the Roman people that no one is righteous. (No one is in right standing with God without Jesus)
Romans 3:10-31 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
Paul was telling all who heard his teaching there in Rome that no matter how hard that they tried they were only evil, and separated from God. Wow, this is even more so today in the world in which we live. How often do we here in this day that good can be done by mankind. Clearly we are told here that nothing that man does will be called good by God without Jesus Christ. There were probably times in our own lives before our salvation that we thought we were good people, and that our good acts far outweighed our bad acts. Do you recall having this belief. We all did at some point before our salvation. Let's continue with Paul's teaching.
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. (In most cases fear of God is translated to the LOVE of God)
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Now are all of those who were under the law guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
No flesh is justified under the Law.
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
All who do not know, and accept Jesus remain in sin.
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Just as Paul was preaching salvation by Jesus in his day, so too are we to teach Jesus as the only way to salvation, and righteousness in God's eyes.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Do you see here that the Jews boasted when under the law that only they were accepted of God if they would obey His law. But, after Jesus came no man could know God without knowing His Son Jesus. We know and are known by God because of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savor.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Brothers, we are justified by faith in Jesus not by the law. The law is not made void through faith. But, the law is established by us through our faith in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. We are now one in Jesus, and only by Jesus who came to teach us, to save us, and to make all who would believe upon Him, and His Holy Name righteous in God's eyes.
God Bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus,
