CALLED TO MATURITY
Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
My brothers, now more than at anytime in our past we need to be growing in God' Holy Word. We have been called out of this world by His very own Spirit who came to live inside us when we were saved. Jesus saved us, the Holy Spirit convicted us of our sins and our need for a savior, but it was God who called us out from this world.
A lot of my brothers in Christ Jesus have been saved for many years. But, they continue to be babes in God's Word. Please see here that we were given a teacher of His word, that God sent His Spirit to live inside us. He will teach us not only God's Word, but will teach us all that we ask of him. He was sent to us to be our helper, to help us in every way that we have need of. But, His primary mission is to teach us God's Word. If you are still a babe in the word of God, and have not grown into the wisdom that he intends for His children to have, then it is because you have not spent time in His Word and asked the Holy Spirit to teach you. We grow into mature Christians by being taught the truth of God's Word.
Brothers, God called you into His Kingdom because you were given an assignment that only you can do. I have told you in past messages that you are unique, and were made that way by God. His word tells us that He knew you before the creation of the world. He gave you your assignment at that time, and only you can complete that assignment. Please pray in the Spirit for Him to show you what you are to do for Him.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Hebrews 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Hebrews 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Hebrews 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Hebrews 6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Hebrews 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
Hebrews 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Hebrews 6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
Hebrews 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Brothers, we have tasted the good word of God. We have been brought out from this evil world by our salvation through Jesus Christ. God does not forget your work and labor in love, which you minister to the saints, your brothers in Christ. God and your brothers who labor with you desire that everyone of you do show the same diligence unto the very end. We are not to be lazy in our walk, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises of God the Father. We are children of Abraham and do receive all of the blessings that Abraham was given by God. Like him after that we have patiently endured the trials of this life, will come out on the other side a mature Christian having done your assignment.
God Bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus,
