Ephesians 2:12-22
Jesus Tore Down The Middle Wall

      Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

     We were once without God in this world, and aliens from the commonwealth of Israel. We were lost, and had no hope of pleasing God.

     Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

     We have been brought nigh (close to God), by Jesus Christ.

     Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

     Jesus broke down the middle wall that separated we Gentiles from the Jews.
Jesus has made us one before God.

     Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

     Jesus abolished in his flesh the enemy (the devil) who separated us from God, and from our Jewish brothers. Jesus also abolished the law of ordinances, making in himself of twain (two), one new man, therefore making peace because we Gentiles who have accepted Jesus, are now one unto God the Father.

     Ephesians 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

     By the cross Jesus has slain the enemy and reconciled both Jew and Gentile unto God the Father of us all.

     Ephesians 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

     Jesus and his apostles and prophets have preached peace to you who were afar off, and have thus brought us close to him by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

     Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

     Through Jesus all of his chosen children have access to the Father by one Spirit.

     Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

     We are no more strangers and foreigners. We are now fellow citizens with the saints. We are now all of the household of God made as one by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

     Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,

     Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Brothers, we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets of Jesus, himself being the chief corner stone of us the church.

     Ephesians 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

     We are to be fitly framed together growing into a holy temple in the Lord.

     Ephesians 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God
through the Spirit.

     Brothers, we who now live on this earth, some 2,000 years after the death of Jesus, are again separated by a middle wall. The same middle wall that Jesus himself tore down so that we Gentiles would not be separated from the Jewish people. But, rather the middle wall that now separates our brothers in Christ from another brother in Christ, are again by the doctrines of men.

     Verse 15 above shows us that Jesus himself tore down the middle wall contained in ordinances. Brothers, these ordinances were and are man made, they are not made by God. If these walls were to exist Jesus would not have torn them down.

     Please tear down these walls which separate us form one another, now in this time!

     By being separated from one another we are making the death of Jesus to no effect!

     This is a very serious statement. Do you understand that man made doctrine was, and is designed to divide us. That that doctrine is the enemy of God. He tells us so in verse 15. It divided those before, and during the time of Jesus, and it divides us once again today.

     Jesus came so that we would be made one in Christ. Just as some Scribes and Priests, made doctrines in Jesus' day based on commandments from God. So to have men in this day made doctrines which are by design to separate us one from another.

     Please, please, my brothers go about tearing down these walls which separate us the children of God from being one with one another in these last days. The Holy Word of God tells us that we are to love one another. You can not love one another if you are hiding behind a man made wall. Walls exist for one reason, and that is to separate.

     Verse 21 and 22 above tells us plainly that we are 'to be fitly framed together growing unto a holy temple in the Lord. By being framed together we will be inhabited by God through the Spirit'. Praise God!

     Brothers, we all have family, and friends who worship in a different sanctuary from us. It may be within the same denomination such as a different Baptist Church, or a different Church of Christ, or a different Methodist, Lutheran, or Assembly of God, etc.

     My point is that you may love your cousin, uncle, or sister who worships in a different place from you. When they pass away from this life most of you know that they have gone home to be with Jesus and the Father. Just because your sister went to a different church than you. You know that they are saved. Don't you?. I pray that you do! You know that they believed Jesus. This is all that is required. Man has spent hundreds of years building this wall that separates. This wall is of the enemy of God.

     We are to have fellowship one with another. Look inside yourself and listen to what God is telling you about this subject. His word says that we are saved, and forgiven of our sins if we by grace through faith know that Jesus Christ is come. That he is the only living begotten Son of God, and that because of his death, burial, and resurrection we are indeed saved, and that He now sits at the right hand of God.

     If your relatives, or neighbors, or friends believe this then they are your brothers in Christ Jesus no matter what sanctuary they worship in. If they do not believe this then they are lost, and are in need of hearing the truth, and you should pray for them and with them if they will allow you too.

     It is in love for my brothers in Christ Jesus that I write this truth. Get busy about tearing down these man made walls. Do it now

God Bless,
