FROM BABES TO MATURITY
Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Brothers, here Jesus is speaking unto the Father, ' thank you for hiding these things from the (world who thinks themselves) wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.' Jesus knew his disciples to still be babes in the word, because he had not yet died for their sins, and rose from the dead, and sent the Holy Spirit unto them to be their helper.
Thank God that we have lived after Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection and through salvation we are made new creatures, and our sins were hung upon the cross with Jesus. God's word tells us that our sins will not only be forgiven, but also forgotten. He will remember them no more forever. Hebrews 8:12 KJV
Brothers, don't let the devil put your past sins into your heart and mind. For they are forgiven and forgotten. Praise God! Don't continue to confess the sins of your past, for God and Jesus do not remember them.
Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Brothers, Jesus acknowledges here to the Father that no man knows who Jesus is, except the Father. Jesus says here that the Father will reveal whom the Son is to whom He chooses. The disciples, in time came to know who Jesus was.
I use to wonder why Jesus had to say and do some things over and over and the disciples still did not get it. Then the Holy Spirit showed me that the disciples did not have the benefit of the Holy Spirit to minister to them. The disciples hungered for his teaching, but did not always understand his words, even the parables at times they did not seem to receive.
We know fellow Christians today who have been born again and saved by the cleansing blood of Jesus, but are still babes in the word of God, as these disciples were before that the Holy Spirit came upon them. Remember Jesus says, that the Holy Spirit will teach you concerning all things, and He does.
Luke 10:23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
Luke 10:24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Brothers, we are the Blessed here that Jesus spoke about to his disciples. He tells us that Prophets and Kings have desired to see those things which you and I can see, and to hear those things which we can hear, if only we will take our heavenly eyes and ears.
Please take your hearing and sight from God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to begin teaching you ALL things! Don't be as the world is who think themselves (Wise and Prudent) and have no understanding of God or Jesus Christ. No longer be babes in the word of God, but rather grow into maturity as Jesus instructed us to do. Only a mature Christian can recognize the devil and his devices when he sends them your way.
Walk in his Holy Word every day. Ask for God's wisdom and understanding to be given you every time that you read and hear His word.
Always read God's word aloud to yourself. The Bible tells us that we receive His Holy Word by hearing. So always read aloud. Romans 10:17 KJV
God Bless you my brothers,
