GOD'S COVENANT WITH US
LESSON #4

     Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

     Brothers, we were separated from Israel and were lost. But, now because of our faith in Jesus Christ we are no more strangers from God's covenant of promise.

     Jesus has torn down the middle wall which separated us Gentiles from God's Jewish Saints. We now are one as his word taught us in lesson #2. We now have the full promise of hope from God our creator and Jesus our savior. This another covenant of promise that we are one in Jesus with the Jewish Saints. The Jewish saints are Jewish believers in Christ Jesus.

     Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

     Matthew 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

     Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

     Brothers when satin tempted Jesus in the wilderness when He was hungry, satin said if you are the Son of God then command these stones to be made into bread.

     Brothers, let me remind you here that satin knows the Word of God, but he just does not believe the Word of God. This is what permanantly seperates the saved from the lost of this world. We believe God's Word and our faith is in that word in Jesus our Lord and Savior. By grace through faith we walk believing God's word. We have his promises.

     Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

     Jesus spoke to satin here in vs 4 and said what God told him to say. Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone, but that man will have life by every word that comes our of the mouth of God.

     Remember from Genesis Chapter 1 that it was God's spoken word that did all of the work in the creation of the earth and everything on the earth including us.

     Please remember here also that Jesus was hungry for food because he was a man here on earth and had the same needs that you and I have in regard to needing food to sustain our lives. Brothers we need to be hungry for God's word in this day. For His word will sustain us in all of this life while we do His work, and wait on his appearing.

     Brothers, believe the Holy Bible and believe every inspired word of God that is in the Bible. Speak those words, believe those words, live those words, and let the word of God do the work in your lives. God's word is true and profitable to you and I.

     Romans 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:

     Romans 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:

     Romans 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

     Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

     Brothers, the lost travel through this life in destruction and misery. They will never know peace. The lost world has no love for God, and they have no love for you and I. Rather they have a great desire to trouble us who know God through our Lord Jesus. They do not fear God because they do not know God.

     We too were once like them, but now are saved by grace of God, through faith in Jesus our Lord. Don't turn back to the ways of this world, but walk in peace through this life knowing that God's covenant promises will always deliver you and I.

     Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

     Man was never going to be judged righteous under the law. This is why it was nessessary for Jesus to come and die for our sins. By his life, death, burial, and resurrection we are now made righteous in God's eyes because of the cleansing blood of Jesus we are forgiven.

     Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

     Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

     Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

     Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

     Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

     Romans 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

     Jesus is what made us one in spirit with the Jewish Saints. God no longer sees us as Gentiles, but rather as his saints. Remember it was Jesus who tore down that middle wall which seperated us from the Jewish saints. Praise God we are now one,  and God sees no differance in us when he looks upon us.

     We are justified, we have been sanctified, we are glorified, because we have been made righteous by the cleansing blood of Jesus. We who could not obtain righteousness under the law of the old testament, are now made righteous by Jesus our Lord and Savior.

     Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

     Here the apostle was saying that God has many things to say to us and to teach us, and that it is hard to do in your present state because you are dull of hearing.

     Remember form lesson #1 we are to take our ears from god and thus we will hear what the Holy Spirit teaches us from God the Father and the Son.

     Brothers, please take and keep your hearing. It is the only way that God can teach you, and is the way to exercise his promises through the covenant that he has with you.

     Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

     Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

     Brothers, NOW is the time that you should be teaching both our brothers, and the lost of this world. But, because you have not taken your hearing from God you still have need of milk. In other words you still need to be taught.

     Once you have taken your hearing, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal and teach you all truth, and also to give you all strength then can you eat of the meat of God's Holy Word. Then you can give milk to those who are babes in God's word. Please take your hearing and reach maturity in Christ Jesus.

     Isaiah 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

     Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

     Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

     Your faith will grow by hearing the word of God, and by speaking the word of God both into your life and into others lives.

     Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

   Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

     Once again here in Psalm 89:34 God promises us that he will not break his covenant with us, nor will he alter in any way those words that he has spoken into our lives. ALL PROMISES WILL BE KEPT BY HIM. Praise God!

     Take His promise, and speak those promises into your life. Take your hearing and teach others the truth of God's Holy Word, for this is one of your assignments.

 God Bless you my brothers,
