Ephesians 1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Brothers, God's grace has saved those of us who believe on Jesus Christ. We were dead in our trespasses, and sins. But, God did quicken our spirits, He convicted us of those sins, and we repented of those trespasses. Praise God!
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
The devil now works in the children of disobedience in this world. Those who now walk after the desires of this world as you and I once did. Those who are lost in this day continue down that road that we once traveled.
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
My brothers you once gave into the desires of the flesh, and of the mind. We all indeed did have our conversation in these lusts. Our mind was corrupt, and by the nature of man we were the children of wrath even as the lost is today.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
But God did have mercy on you, and I. God loved us so much even in our sins, that He quickened us together with Christ Jesus. By God's grace are we saved.
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
God has raised you, and I up that we now sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus with He and God the Father. We accepted Jesus because of the conviction of our sins, and by God's grace toward you, and I we are now made new creatures in Him.
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
We have now been shown the exceeding riches of God's grace.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Do you see that we are saved by God's grace through our faith in Jesus Christ. We did nothing to save our selves. It is the free gift of God, not of our works, but of our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
God Bless you my brothers,
