Here Jesus is in prayer to God the Father, on our behalf. He is praying for us who are believers, the Church, Gods children, His laborers.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Does the world hate us in this day brothers? Yes, they do, and more with each passing day, it seems to me.

John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

The world is evil because it knows not Jesus, nor God the Father. Jesus prays that God would keep us from evil. Do you think God answers Jesus' prayers? Oh yes he does.

We are not to worry about the evil of this world, because God will keep it away from us. Evil has no power over us. Remember when Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He told us that he had defeated the devil and his demons, and had taken the keys to Death and Hell.

He says that in all of mans lifetime, man had a fear of death, and in this manner did the devil come at them with threats of death. Now, because Jesus took that threat away from the devil, we as children of God are to have no fear of the devil, no fear of evil, or of death.
For we have victory in Jesus. We are victorious my brothers.

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

We are not of this world, but rather in this world for a short time until Jesus appears or until we are called home to be with our Lord.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

We are sanctified through the word of God because His word is all truth.

John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

We are sanctified through the word of God. His word is truth.

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Brothers, we are those who have believed the Word of God because Jesus' disciples taught other disciples, and they other disciples of Christ Jesus, until this day that we have been taught by the sanctified word of God. "Praise God"!

John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

One! One! One! This is who we are to be my brothers. One, just as Jesus and God are one. By being one with each other, we are then one with Jesus, and one with God. Love your brothers in oneness, that we may be made perfect in His love.

John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

One, One, One, that we may be made perfect in oneness with our Brothers, with Jesus, and with God the Father. Do you see this? If not go back to verse 14 and reread over and over until you do see the truth of His Holy Word.

It is vitally important for you, my brothers in Christ, to get this now!

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

John 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Brothers, we are to love ALL of those who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savour.  Jesus declares here in vers 26 that the love wherewith God has loved Jesus that that love may be in us brothers and that Jesus himself will be in each of us if we love our brothers. In that love are we made perfect even as Jesus is perfect.

We will never be completely sanctified in His love until we love others as he loves and has loved us his children.

Please, walk in his love today and every day until His appearing or until we are called home. Jesus prayed this for us, and He expects this of us.

God Bless you my brothers,

John Hipp
