JESUS IS GOD'S LOVE IN THE FLESH
Brothers, Jesus is love. God loved us even when we were lost. He did not send Jesus for the righteous, because there were no righteous people on this earth.
Jesus lived here teaching the lost about God's love for them. Do you see in the new testament that even the disciples were lost. Yes they eventually knew that Jesus was the Son of God. But, not until he had died and rose from death appearing to them, Eating with them. Proving that He was now alive and had victory over death. Then and only then did they truly believe that Jesus had given them eternal life.
Before that I myself grasped this truth I used to wonder how the disciples could spend every day with Jesus, and see all of the miracles performed by him, and then not know that he was the Son of God. I thought how can they forget from one day to the next.
Then I was given understanding that even the disciples could not be saved until Jesus has risen form his grave, and not even then until the Holy Spirit had appeared unto them in Jerusalem. Jesus told them all to go there and wait on their other helper.
It was after they received God's very own Holy Spirit that they understood what Jesus had been teaching them. We in this day are lost until we know Jesus as the Son of God and our Lord and Savior after that the Holy Spirit convicted us of our sin, and we accepted Jesus. Praise God!
Love my brothers. Love. The complete love of God is the very essence of Jesus our Lord.
1st John is one of my favorite books which teach us the love of both Jesus and God the Father.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.19 We love him, because he first loved us.20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
As I said my brothers these verses and many more show us the importance of love.
Our Heavenly Father first loved us when we were lost. He then sent Jesus that we might have eternal life by believing upon Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. Then by walking each day in love.
Brothers, we are required to love our brothers in Christ Jesus. All who lift up Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and the only way to know eternal life are our brothers.
We are told plainly here in God's holy word that if we do not love our brothers then we do not love God.
That is about as plain as you can make it by brothers in Christ Jesus. Please do not let men and their man made doctrine separate you from your brother in Christ just because they may attend a different sanctuary than you.
We are told plainly here in Chapter 3 & 4 of 1st John how that we must love our brothers. Please read these chapters over and over until you see the importance of love for each of our brothers.
God bless you my brothers.
