JESUS REVEALS HIMSELF TO US
Matthew 11:15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Take your heavenly ears brother, and hear what the Father says to you.
Matthew 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
Matthew 11:17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
Jesus likens this generation as children saying, that this generation has neither danced in joy nor cried.
Matthew 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Jesus says here that John the Baptist came neither eating not drinking and the people called him a devil. He says that the Son of man came both eating and drinking, and they call him a glutton, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Matthew 11:26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Jesus thanks God the Father that he has hidden this truth from the wise and prudent of this world, and has revealed these things to babes who believe in the Word of God.
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Jesus says here that man can not know the Son unless he knows the Father, and no one knows Father unless the Son, our Lord Jesus, reveals himself to them.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Praise God. Those of us who have been born again know first hand that we find rest in Jesus. We know that his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
God Bless you my brothers,
