John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Jesus speaking here tells us that He has given us a new commandment here, that we are to love one another as Jesus has loved us. Jesus tells us here that by our love for one another, shall all men know that we are his diciples. Brothers, if the lost world sees us the church fighting, arguing, and disagreeing, and not loving one another, how will they believe upon the name of Jesus. Loving one another is a our commandment.
John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Brothers, we have not seen God yet we love Him. We have seen and do see our brothers, How can we say then that we love God whom we have not seen, when we do not love our brothers whom we have seen. This should not be my brothers. Jesus has commanded us to love our brothers. If we love God than we have no excuse not to love our brothers for He has commanded this of us.
John 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
The world will hate us because it first hated Jesus. We know that we have passed, from death in our sins, unto life in Jesus Christ. We are told plainly here in verse 14 that if we don't love our brothers as Jesus commanded, then we continue in death and walk not in life, with Jesus Christ and God the Father. Brothers, this is a powerful statement to us His Church.
John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Brothers, this commandment to love our brothers is repeated again here in verses 9-11. We had better get this commandment and begin now to live this life loving our brothers.
John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
John 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
Brothers, don't be ashamed before Jesus at his coming, verse 28. We are to abide in Him now and love our brothers now.
John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Brothers, Jesus was, and is, and always will be, about LOVE!
God Bless you my brothers,
