FOR HIS SOON APPEARING
2Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Brothers, through our knowledge of God, and of Jesus
our Lord, grace and peace is multiplied unto you and I. It is through our
knowledge of God and Jesus that we live in His grace and peace. WoW!
How do we obtain Gods and Jesus' knowledge? We do this
by studying his word, by knowing his word, by hearing his word, by receiving,
and walking in his Holy Word, every day. Not just for a couple of hours on our
Sabbath day, but every day of our lives.
It is up to us to grow into a mature Christian. To no
longer have need for only the milk of his word as an infant needs milk, but
rather we are to partake of the sincere meat of his word.
1 Peter 2:2Like newborn infants,
long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation Hebrews 5:12For though by this
time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic
principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,
1 Corinthians 3:2 I fed you with milk,
not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet
Hebrews 5:13 For everyone who
lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.
We are to grow into a mature Christian my brothers.
Maturity is what God expects of us. In maturity we
will not be tossed about like a small boat in a great and stormy sea. But, we
will be firmly attached to God and Jesus our Lord, in this life of occasional
sudden and violent storms when they come our way. Only in their knowledge will
we be secure in Gods grace and in His peace. Please live in this grace and
peace by knowing the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.
2Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given
unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge
of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Brothers, do you see that we have been called unto
glory and virtue. It is His divine power that He has given to us. ALL things
that pertain unto life and godliness. You and I should grow in His knowledge,
and live in his peace, grace, and virtue of that which mature Christians are to
both accept and to walk in.
2Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great
and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We have been given His great and precious promises. He
keeps every promise that he has spoken, through his anointed deciples, through
the living word of the Holy Bible. Brothers, we have ALL of His promises, and
we are to be partakers of the divine nature of God. By doing this we have
escaped the corruption, and lust of this wicked and evil world.
2Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add
to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Peter 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to
temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to
brotherly kindness charity.
2Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound,
they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Brothers, it is in His knowledge that we give ALL
diligence in adding virtue to our faith. We through Gods knowledge, will add
His knowledge to our own lives. We are also to add temperance, patience,
godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity which is love for our brothers and
for our fellow man.
2Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind,
and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old
2Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye
shall never fall:
If we grow in Gods knowledge, and that of our Lord and
savior Jesus Christ, we will add all of the above traits and acts unto our own
lives. Growing in His knowledge will bring unto us His grace and peace.
2Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered
unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
God Bless you my brothers, and may you receive his
promises in your life each and every day.
