Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by loveGalatians 5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
Galatians 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Brothers, we are to walk in Spirit as a new creature in Christ, with our new liberty that we have found, which dwells in our own spirit. The Holy Spirit of God has come to dwell in our own spirit. We are to use that liberty by love to serve one another. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
We are told here in verse 16-17 that we are to walk in Spirit. Not as the world walks in flesh. For we are no longer flesh, for our flesh was crucified with Christ Jesus. Our own spirit that we were born with is no longer of sin in the flesh in which we were born. But, rather our spirit has now been occupied by both Jesus and God's Holy Spirit which have come to dwell inside our spirit. Our earthly body is now only clothing for our spirit, and our flesh has no rule over us who are now born again. This is what God told us, that our spirit was born again, having been made a new creature from our former sin.
The flesh lusteth and wareth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. The capital S in Spirit represents here the Holy Spirit of God which has come to dwell in our own spirit. The s represents our spirit not God's Holy Spirit. We are told here in verse 17 that the flesh which is satin and the Spirit which is God's Spirit are contrary to each other, so that you can not do the things that you use to do before God came to dwell inside you. We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. We are to walk Christ like in this life and by being, walking, and talking like Christ then the world, our family, our friends, and our co-workers, and neighbors well see the newness of our spirit, and will see Christ in us.
God Bless you my brothers,
