'PILLAR OF A CLOUD'

NUMBERS 14:14
'THOU GOEST BEFORE THEM, BY DAY TIME IN A PILLAR OF A CLOUD',

Examine the photograph below closely.
The Lord allowed me to see and capture this photograph
over Cody, Wyoming in 2005.
Note the vertical half moon, in the distance, near the top of the photograph.
Please see the image of the angel of the Lord moving across the landscape
with a young lamb riding on his shoulders.

I first captured this image of the angel of the Lord with outstretched hands.
Then the next frame caught the image of the young lamb being carried on his shoulders.

Please allow me to now draw a paralal between the children of Israel who the Lord led out of egypt with Moses mentoring them, as he was taking them to the land promised them by God, and the United States of America.

Numbers 13:23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

Numbers 13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

Numbers 13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

Numbers 13:27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

Numbers 13: 28 Never the less the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and more over we saw the children of Anak there.

Numbers 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south; and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

Here ten of the twelve spies sent by Moses, save Caleb and Joshua  begin to draw a very fearful picture of how that they would all be killed if they were to go up against these people to claim the land that God had promised them.

Numbers 13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched, unto the children of Israel, saying. The land through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Numbers 13:33 And there we saw ten giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in therir sight.

Now this is a picture filled with fear of death and being eaten up by the giants who possess the land that God has promised to them. These ten men paint a very negative picture to those of thier respective tribes.

So much so that the people contemplate going back into Egypt to once again be bound in slavery. Read here what they plead.

Numbers 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

Numbers 14:2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron; and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or were God that we had died in the wilderness!

Only Caleb and Joshua are pleading to go ahead into the land that God had promised them. Even their own tribes believed not them but believed the fearful report of the other ten who had gone into the land to spy.

Can you imagine how very disappointed that Moses, Caleb, and Joshua must have been at these fearful children of Israel. After all of the miracles that they had seen God perform in delivering them from slavery. They continued to be afraid of their own shadows.

They still had no faith in God. Caleb and Joshua trusted God and had no doubt that God would deliver them victorious in battle and that they would possess the land that God had promised them. But, no one would believe with them for their promised land.

Does this sound familiar? Don't this sound like what the lost world is saying to us right now? Doom and gloom is what is being preached to us by the "talking heads of the news media and our elected officials". And unfortunately to many of our pastors and brothers in Christ who cling to all of the negativity that the lost world throws at us.

Here the murmurrors continued and cried through the night wishing they were back in Egypt, or had died on their journey into the wilderness. Evidently they didn't care to die, they just didn't want to be eaten by the giants in the land of Canaan.

Do you see a parallel between the children of Israel of Moses day and the people of this day.

First, remember if you will, that all of these people were unsaved. For our Lord and Savour Jesus Christ had not yet came and died for Gods children. The older ones here, those over 20, failed God.

They did not believe that he could deliver them from the people who occupied the land that God himself had promised to them. This unbelieve was present even though they, according to Gods own words here, had shown them 10 miracles on their journey out of bondage to the Egyptians. But they were walking in fear and regret every day of their lives. They continually looked behind and not ahead.

The people of our respective countries do the same thing. They see, hear, feel and soak up all of the fear that satan can speak at them by any and all means. Our fathers died in many wars that this country has been part of, both here and around the world.

In all cases they went bravely into battle, many, many times they were greatly out numbered but they went into battle so that their children and grand children would live in a country where they were free, and could worship God in thanksgiving for all that He has blessed them with.

Now the people of this country, who are the children and grand children of the World War ll era soldiers, have thrown away every thing that made this country free and Godly. They do this out of fear, and greed, having no love for God or mankind.

They are blind and can not see, deaf and can not hear, and speak no good thing. They have no love for anyone and walk in every evil way. They call good bad, and bad good, up down, in out, and go out of their way to destroy all that made this country great.

They have allowed God to be taken out of our public buildings and schools. Pushing God out of our lives in every possible way. All control by parents and teachers have been removed.

The government, and our elected officials have thrown God out of the very halls of justice that was founded by our forefathers who designed and built this nation under God. The very God who had blessed this nation above any, and all nations of the earth.

Why did God bless America from the very beginning? Because it was founded by God fearing, and loving people who came here in search of religious freedom, and who held his word in such high regard and esteemed it above all else.

The bible was used throughout our constitution. No other country, ever, anywhere had founded a country to work on the principals of God. And for that reason God blessed this nation beyond any ones imagination, including the founding fathers.

Now listen to the attitude of the children of Israel in the wilderness.

Numbers 14:3 And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? Were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

Numbers 14:4 And they said one to another, let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Numbers 14:5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

Numbers 14:6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes.

Numbers 14:7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, the land which we passed through to search it, is an excedding good land.

Numbers 14:8 If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into theis land, and giveit us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

Numbers 14:9 Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us; their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us; fear them not.

Caleb and Joshua plead the cause to walk in faith with God and He will deliver them the promised land. That they will be victorious in battle if only they would believe God and not sucome to fear. But, to no avail. The congregation of the children of Israel wished death by stoneing at the hands of the Egyptians instead.

Numbers 14:10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

Their unbelief amazes me, however I see the same level of unbelief among us now.

Now listen to what God has to say to Moses about their unbelieve and what will become of them.

Numbers 14:11 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? And how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?

Numbers 14:12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier that they.

God tells Moses of his disgust with these people. and that He will disinherit them and smite them with pestilence.

Now Moses pleads with God to show mercy on the people for the world is watching, and if he does not deliver them into the promised land the world will use this against him from this time fourth.

Doesn't it sound like here that God was through with this bunch of ungrateful unbelievers. Yes it does!

Well friends, and brothers in Christ Jesus. Wake up.

How much longer do you think that God will delay his great wrath upon this ungodly nation. We have no Moses today who will, or can plead our case before God. Watch now as Moses pleads to God for mercy toward the children of Israel.

Numbers 14:13 And Moses said unto the Lord, then the Egyptians shall here it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

14:14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land; for they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Numbers  14:15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, sayin,

14:16 Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

Moses says here that even their enemies speak of the special relationship that God has with the children of Israel.

He calls it 'thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud'.

So too did he with this nation called America. Brothers I believe this with all of my heart.

14:17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

Numbers 14:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

Numbers 14:19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

Now listen to Gods judgement on their unbelief.

Numbers 14:20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

Numbers 14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

Numbers 14:22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

Numbers 14:23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Numbers 14:25 (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

Numbers 14:26 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Numbers 14:27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

Numbers 14:28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Numbers 14:29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me.

Numbers 14:30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of  NUN

Numbers 14:31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

Numbers 14:32 But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.

Numbers 14:33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

Numbers 14:34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

Numbers 14:35 I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

Numbers 14:36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

Numbers 14:37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

Here God exacts his judgement upon the disobediant children of Israel.

They all died in the wilderness after wandering for 40 years, 1 year for each of the 40 days that they were searching the promised land.

Their children who were under the age of 20 at the time where the only ones who Caleb and Joshua would lead into the new land.

Numbers 14:38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

Numbers 14:39 And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

Numbers 14:40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

Numbers 14:41 And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

Numbers 14:42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Numbers 14:43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

Numbers 14:44 But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

Numbers 14:45 Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.

Some of the doubters proclaimed that they would go, and fight for the land, however Moses tried to tell them not to go because God was not with them any longer. They went, and died at the hands of those in Canaan as they had first feared.

Brothers in Christ Jesus please don't wait until God passes judgement on us for our slothfullness, hatred, lust, greed, devil worshiping, sins of every sort, and kind that is named in the bible.

These things do florish in this day in this country. We have gone far beyond the cities of Sodom.

We must get about doing Gods work in this late hour. Bringing all the lost, of this nation, and the world, into the body of Christ, before His soon appearing.

We have indeed seen God go before us in the
'PILLAR OF A CLOUD'

Brothers, His appearing is at hand.

GO ABOUT COMPLETING YOUR ASSIGNMENT THAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU.
