PRAY FOR MANKIND
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
Brothers, we are taught here, in 1st Timothy Chapter 2, that we as children of God to pray always for our fellow man. We are to offer up our prayers for them, and to give thanks as we make intercessions to God on there behalf.
Do you see that just as Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father and makes intercessions on our behalf, we also are to prayerfully intercede on behalf of our fellow man.
Our fellow man is both our brothers in Christ Jesus, and also the lost and unbelieving among us. God's Holy Word tells us that we are to walk through this life Christ like as children of the living God.
It is easy to condemn someone for their actions or their words. But, we are held to a higher standard than this world is held too. We must always be mindful that we as God's children are to be more than this lost world, and we are to do more for others than this lost world.
Paul is telling us here that we first of all we are to offer prayers for man kind, as we intercede on their behalf. Remember if you will that even as Christ was being crucified for our sins he said, 'Forgive them Father for they no not what they do.'
Brothers we are to do what Christ did here on this earth.
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We are to pray for kings, and for all who are in authority over us. All of us have someone or many who are in authority over us. It matters not what country that you reside in there are leaders who rule over us.
We do not always agree with how they rule, or with what laws that they pass which we find ourselves subject to. But, we must pray for them.
All of us desire to live a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and honesty.
Brothers, pray for your leaders, and for those who have authority over you.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
We are told plainly here in verse three that praying and interceding on behalf of our fellowman, our leaders, and those in authority is both good and acceptable in the sight of God.
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Brothers, it is God's will that all men would be saved, by the sacrifice that He and Jesus made on our behalf.
Sometime it is easy for us Christians to believe that we are saved, but that this lost world can not be saved.
Brothers, nothing can be further from the truth. God is both willing, and able to save even the most wretched man on this earth. We must pray for the lost, and make intercessions to God in our prayers for his sole.
It is so very late my brothers, please practice praying for the lost of this world.
But, do not forget to pray for our brothers in Christ Jesus for we all need God's strength to carry our assignments.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Brothers, please see here that Jesus paid the price for our salvation. But, he also paid the price for those who remain lost until this day. The salvation of mankind was God's reason for sending his only begotten Son, Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Pray every where without wrath, and without doubting that your prayers can help to bring the lost to salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord.
God bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus;
