RISEN WITH CHRIST JESUS

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Were you a slave when called? Do not be concerned about it. (But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.) For he who was called in the Lord as a slave is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a slave of Christ. You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.

Brothers, we are told here that we as born again children of God are to be servants, slaves if you will, of Christ. We were bought with a price by Jesus, and we are not to become slaves of men. How very easy it is to become slaves of men, of possessions, of things which tie us down and make us to be slaves of men. We are told NOT TO BECOME SLAVES OF MEN. Brothers, we must walk away from the lusts of this world, and instead be a slave of Christ Jesus.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

My brothers, Luke tells us here in 4:18 that the Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because He has anointed us to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent ius to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. We as children of God are to be about doing all of these things in this day. Luke was speaking God's Holy Word to us for this day just as he was for those of his day.

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. ...

We are risen with Christ Jesus. We are made to walk in newness of life. We were united in death with Jesus, we were raised in newness of life with him, and we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like his. Brothers, our resurrection from this life to meet Jesus in the air, when He comes for us His Church, could be at anytime. Watch.

God Bless you my brothers,

John Hipp
