THE GATES OF HELL

Brothers, Acts 26:14 tells us that Saul was on the road to Damascus with some of his soldiers when the light of God appeared to him and knocked him from his horse to the ground. He was blinded by this light. Saul new that it was the Lord who had done this thing.

God said, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Is it hard for
thee to kick against the pricks.

Saul was the great persecutor of the Church. Every time that he
heard people were gathering to hear, and worship Jesus, he and his soldiers would come and attack the crowd, beating them,
and arresting them. He was called the persecutor of the Church because this is what he did.

As Saul lay on the ground blinded by the light of God himself. God wanted to know if kicking against the pricks was hard.

I fill sure that God had convicted Saul on many occasions of his sins, just as he did us before we surrendered to Him. God had chosen Saul to do great work for the kingdom of God. Saul had resisted God in the past when conviction would come upon him, but this time God meant to gain Saul's attention.

You know the story of how Saul became Paul one of God's most
successful Apostile'.

We are told in the book of Revelation Chapter 12:11 that the servants of God overcame satin by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ the Son of God.

The blood of Jesus is the first strand of barbed wire on the
fence around Hell.

His saving blood is the only thing that can save you from
spending eternity in Hell. He came and died for us all. He is and
always will be our Lord and Savour. He died for everyone on this earth. All that is necessary for the lost to be saved is to call upon Him, and accept him as Lord and Savour, and to trust in him for by grace through our faith in Jesus are you saved.

Confess him and know his saving grace my friends. Accept him and be delivered from the gates of Hell which wait on all who
are unsaved in this day.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The Gospel is the second strand of barbed wire around hell.

We all heard the gospel preached at some point in our lives. Our
spirit which had laid dormant in our bodies were quickened by the Holy Spirit, as we accepted and knew the saving grace of Jesus Christ the Son of God, and believed upon the Word of God as our truth. Jesus commanded us to go fourth into the world
and preach, teach, and exhort the gospel of Christ Jesus and God the Father.

John 16:5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

John 16:6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you
that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment:

John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot
bear them now.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will
guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore
said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Brothers, Jesus is preparing his disciples here for his death, burial, and resurrection to Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father.

He is telling them that the Holy Spirit of God will be their comforter and will also be the one who will bring conviction to the world for thier sins.

The Holy Spirit is the third string in the barbed wire fence
around Hell!

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Philipians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and
given him a name which is above every name:

Brothers, the name of Jesus has all power and authority. There have been many who called out His name in times of trouble,
and found his eagerness to reach out, and to save them both
from an earthly calamity, and save their very souls unto salvation. Praise God!

We also called out his name and do to this day when we find
ourselves in great need.

The name of Jesus is the fourth strand of barbed wire around Hell!

God the Father tries to stop those who come so very close to the
gates of Hell, as they go through this life.

Those who are lost, and do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savour, repent now before you find the gate to hell open, and enter therein.

Pray for and witness to, the lost of this world while there is still time my brothers!

THE GATES OF HELL

Brothers, look at the four strands of barbed wire above. See that
these are here to prick the conscience of the lost of this world in
hopes of turning these precious souls to God.

I love each of you, and know that most of us have kicked
against the pricks during our life. Just as God asked Saul on the road to Damascus saying to him. Does it hurt to kick against the pricks? He also watched us kick against this barbed wire fence surrounding hell.

The Blood of Jesus, The Gospel, The Holy Spirit, The Name of Jesus to this day stand as a barbed wire fence trying to prevent lost souls from finding, and stumbling through the gates of hell.

Matthew 16:18 says plainly that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. We are the fortunate ones who finally listened to God, and called upon him, and were saved by both knowing, and accepting Jesus Christ as our only way to eternal life.

Brothers, please pray for the lost in this hour. We are so very near the time of His appearing. Love your brothers in Christ
Jesus, and live the life, and do the work that He has called you
to do.

My dear brother Hilton Sutton preached a sermon once where he
spoke of the barbed wire fence around hell. He made the analogy
that if there are gates to hell then there must be a fence. For you
have no need of a gate if there is no fence.

He told the account of praying many hours about what was meant about the gates of hell.

The Holy Spirit imparted unto him the four strands that would make up the fence around hell. As I contemplated on his message so many, many years ago a thought of drawing the above image. This would help you to see the truth of God's Word where this fence is concerned, as well as the purpose of this fence in keeping the lost from entering the gate that surrounds Hell.

My friend and brother said this, "If you bounce off of the fence long enough eventually you will stumble through the gate, and then it will be to late for you"!

God Bless you my brothers, and those who are soon to be my
brothers.
