Brothers, please see below what the Bible teaches us about the unbelievers of this world. What God says that our interaction should be with the unbelievers, and our role as the church to minister to, and rebuke those who profess to be our brothers in Christ Jesus, and walk not in righteousness.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) In whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious
gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Do you see that satin (who is the god of this world) has blinded the minds of them who do not believe upon the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior. They can not see the truth because their god (satin) keeps them in his blindness. This is satins doing, not God the Father of us the Church. For if satin does not keep them in utter darkness, then the light of the gospel of Christ Jesus should shine unto them.
Brothers, it is God's very own Holy Spirit who brings conviction upon the unbelievers. Only he can shine light into the darkness that satin has blinded them with. Once the unbelievers have been convicted of their sins, then we are able to minister to them. But if they repent not then it is no longer up to us, but rather the Holy Spirits conviction must once again lead them from darkness unto the light of Jesus Christ our Lord. We must teach them the gospel of Christ once they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is then that you and I can affect their spiritual growth in the truth of God's Holy Word.
2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV) Be ye not unequally yoked together
with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?
Brothers, the above verse 14, tells us plainly that we are not to yoke ourselves with unbelievers. What fellowship can a righteous believer have with the unrighteous. We can, and should walk in front of them as a righteous person. For when the Holy Spirit has brought them into repentance, then they will see our righteousness, and seek guidance from us. We are asked the question here in verse 14 - 'what communion has light with darkness.' Can light and darkness occupy the same space. No it can not! For the space will either be dark because there is no light there, or there will be only light because light always brings darkness into non existence.
Ephesians 4:18 ESV They darkened in
their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance
that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
My brothers, it is the hardness of the unbelievers heart, which keeps them separated from the life of God, and there they remain in darkness. They have no understanding of God our Father until they are brought out from darkness by the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It is then when you and I can be a witness to them. God's word tells us that the Holy Spirit has appeared to all men. We pray that the unbelievers would come to repentance.
In some cases we were taught in error that the lost of the whole world must be witnessed too by us the Church. We are indeed to go forth into all of the world as a witness to the lost. But, it is not our witness that will remove the blindness from their eyes, but rather the Holy Spirits convection. God's word tells us that He is omnipresent, which means every where at once. God's very own Holy Spirit is the one who touches every man on earth with conviction. It is then up to the unbeliever to act upon that conviction.
Proverbs 24:20 ESV For the evil man has
no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
There is no hope for life eternal for the wicked unbelievers. They must receive the truth of their sin. They must repent, or their will be no life in them forever.
1 Timothy 5:8 ESV But if anyone does
not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he
has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
We are to help our relatives with all that is inside us, and especially those of our on house. If we do not help them then we are told here, that we are worse than the unbeliever because we have denied our faith. Brothers, please see here that we are to always live an exemplary life before all unbelievers, and especially the unbelievers of our own house and relatives. Because, you see that those relatives, and those of our house see us more that the worlds unbelievers do. Here we are told that we will be worse than an unbeliever if we are not living a righteous life before our own people.
Romans 6:23 ESV For the wages of sin
is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Brothers, be an example of righteousness as you walk before your own house, your relatives, and the lost of this world. Just know, that it is always up to the unbeliever to repent of their sins, and to accept Jesus as Savior, as Lord, and as the only begotten Son of God under conviction of the Holy Spirit of God. But, please know that we are to be living a righteous life every day, that both the lost, and our brothers might see Jesus in each of us.
God Bless you my brothers,
