“WATCH AND PRAY”
Mark 13:32-37, 32 - But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 - Take ye heed, watch and pray for ye know not when the time is. 34 - For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 - Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 - Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 - And what I say unto you I say unto all. Watch.
Brothers, Jesus speaking here in the book of Mark, tells us plainly that no man will know the day nor the hour of his appearing, to catch up us His church. Not the angels which are in heaven, not even Jesus himself, but only God the Father knows the day and the hour of His appearing.
Jesus tells us here to take heed, to watch and pray, because we do not know when He shall appear. Jesus compares himself to a householder, a man of means who has many servants in his employ. As he was about to leave on a journey of great distance, he gave authority to his servants to do the work that they had been assigned, and to perform that work as though he had never left. He commanded that they watch for his return. That they would not be told what day nor time of day that he would return. But they were to be careful, (take heed), least he would return to find them sleeping and not going about the work that he had assigned unto them to do.
Fellow servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ PLEASE, be about doing, working, and completing your assigned tasks that the Holy Spirit of God has given you to do. Lest coming suddenly Jesus would find you sleeping. We are commanded here to go about the task that we are given. If we are found not doing this task, whatever yours might be, then we are in danger of being left behind when the church is caught away. Do God’s work each and every day, for we might only have today. There is a gospel song which says, " forever is not so far away, it might just be today". Praise God! Yes it very well might be today. We must treat every day as the day of His appearing.
Just think for one minute, if God decided that he would tell one person on this earth that Jesus would appear today at 11:15 pm EST, and that person was you, what would you do. Would you go about doing his work? Or would you try to complete your on tasks. I pray that you would busy yourself with His work, not yours. Ask yourself this question and answer it honestly. This will tell you if you know what your assigned task is. If not, please pray now for the Holy Spirit to tell you what your gifts are and for Him to help you with God’s wisdom about how to go about completing this assignment. God's Holy Word tells us that "if any man likes wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all man unabraided".
Brothers, we are in the end times, the last days are now, and we have so much work yet to do as the body of Christ. My assignment is to teach UNITY to my brothers. You will see this throughout our web sight. When Jesus prayed to God the Father, a short time before he was taken to be judged by men, He prayed, ‘Father, I pray not for the world, but for those that you have given me, that they would be one, as you and I are one, that by being one as we are one, the world might believe that you have sent me’.We as the body of Christ must turn away form man made religious traditions, we must become one body with many members.
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Living and risen Son of God, that He came to this earth born as a man, the Living Word of God, that He who new no sin died for our sins and the sins of the world. That He rose again on the third day, giving us victory over all things, and now sits on his throne at the right hand of God the creator and Father of us all. Then we are brothers in Christ Jesus, and it matters not what sanctuary you choose to worship in on the Sabbath day.
Please turn away form those thing that separate us. Turn to His Holy Word and go about completing the task that He has given you. Pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you all things. He will do this for you, and for all of our brothers in Christ, if only we will have a willing heart and take, and use the ears to hear, which He has given us.
Thank you and God bless,
