WE FAINT NOT
Brothers, you and I have received mercy from God the Father because of Jesus. We have been given an assignment, (a ministry if you will), to complete here on this earth in service to God. We must not faint, but rather you and I must complete our ministry.
2Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this
ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2Corinthians 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things
of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God
deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every
man's conscience in the sight of God.
You and I as children of God have renounced, (put off), the things of dishonesty, rather we must be honest in all things just as Jesus was while He was here on earth. You and I do not walk in craftiness, (as the hypocrite does saying one thing and doing another). We are not to handle the word of God deceitfully, (as the hypocrites do). You and I, my brothers, must by the truth which abides inside each of us (God's Holy Word, His Spirit, and Jesus our Lord and Savior), as Jesus in manifested in you and I. We are to surrender ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God by living and walking a godly life. Brothers, it is up to every man's conscience to live with those wrongs that he commits if that man is lost and does not know God. But, we know God and He holds you and I up as an example to the world. We must walk, act, talk, and be Christ like even when a lost soul or a brother does not.
2Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid
to them that are lost:
Brothers, if the gospel in which we preach, teach, or exhort be hid, then it is hid to them that are lost, and less the lost receive the conviction of the Holy Spirit when He comes to them, then they will not see nor here the gospel that you and I bring to them because they are both blind and deaf.
2Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious
gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
The god of this world is satin, and it is he who has blinded the minds of those who do not believe God's word or Jesus' life as the Son of God. Christ Jesus' light will shine on them, but they must believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and be saved, or they will forever be lost.
2Corinthians 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but
Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
You and I are to preach Christ Jesus the Lord, as his servants. For we are His servants, and we preach the gospel of Christ, not our own words, but rather God's Holy Word.
2Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the
knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
God's light has shined in our hearts, and thus the knowledge of Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father is our light.
2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Our salvation is indeed our treasure here in our fleshly bodies, in these earthen vessels in which we live. All that we minister and do is of the power of God whose Spirit dwells inside each of us. Any power that we have is of God, and not of us.
2Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet
not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
We as children of God are troubled on every side at various times in our lives, but we are not distressed by that trouble because we have an advocate to God the Father in Jesus our Lord and Savior. You and I are perplexed at times, but will not be put in despair, by satin.
2Corinthians 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast
down, but not destroyed;
We will be persecuted for standing up for Jesus in this day in which we now live, but we will continue the teach the truth of His word. For God has said that he will never leave nor forsake us. You and I abide under His wings and His angels will lift us up in their hands least we fall. You and I will be cast down, but will never be destroyed. We are victorious in all things for we walk in the full armor of God.
2Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the
dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in
You and I are crucified daily in our bodies, for Jesus our Lord. That Jesus might be made real in our body.
2Corinthians 4:11 For we which live are alway
delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our mortal flesh.
We are delivered unto, and from death for Jesus' sake each day, to make Jesus manifest in our flesh that we do not forget what He has done for us.
2Corinthians 4:12 So then death worketh in us, but
life in you.
So daily death, and life works in each of God's children.
2Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith,
according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also
believe, and therefore speak;
You and I have the spirit of faith living inside each of us, according as it is written. We believed, and have confessed Jesus as our Savior before this lost and dying world.
2Corinthians 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the
Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
You and I know that God raised up our Lord Jesus from death, and shall also raise us up to be where He is .
2Corinthians 4:15 For all things are for your sakes,
that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the
glory of God.
All things which you and I may suffer here on this earth we are delivered from by His abundant grace, and with our thanksgiving, of His great promises we do rebound to the glory of God.
2Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but
though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Even though our outward man, our flesh dies, yet our inward man is renewed day by day because of our great faith by His grace.
2Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is
but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of
Indeed all affliction is made light, and is only for a moment, that affliction works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Praise God.
2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things
which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are
seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
You and I my brothers, look at and always stay focused on those things which are not seen by the people of this world. But, rather we know that these things seen here on earth are temporary and will pass away. But, the things which are not seen are eternal and will never end.
God Bless you my brothers,
