PSALM 103

   PSALM 103 - "The teaching by the Holy Spirit of God"

   Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

   Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

   Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

   Psalm 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

   Psalm 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

   (Our very soul cries out blessings unto the Lord our God and all that is within us, we bless his holy name, we speak his holy word from our mouths, you and I. We will not forget ALL of his benefits. He forgives ALL of our iniquities, yours and mine, he heals ALL of our diseases, yours and mine. He redeems our life from destruction, yours and mine. He crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, both you and I.

   Psalm 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

   Psalm 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

   Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

   Psalm 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

   Psalm 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

   Psalm 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

   (The Lord our God in heaven executes righteousness and judgement outo ALL who fear him. As a young christian I did not understand why we should fear God if we were saved from our sins. Brothers, in God's holy word when fear is used in connection with the name of God, here fear means to love.

   In the 11th verse above we are told that so great is his mercy toward you and I who love him. We who love him have no fear of his judgement on us.

   Verse 8 above tells us that he is slow to anger. That he is plenteous in mercy toward you and I and that the Lord is merciful and gracious to us his children.

   In verse 7 above, the Lord made known his ways to Moses, and he made known his acts upon the children of Israel. Even though we who have believed upon the name of Jesus Christ are saved from our sins, we will be judged by God for the works that we did in service to him here on this earth. He has indeed forgiven us our iniquities, and our sins. The word of God tells us that not only are we forgiven, but that he does not even remember them. He will however, remember all that we did in service to him, and all that we could have done but did not do. We will be rewarded accordingly when we are in heaven.  He loves us as far as the east is from the west.

   ALL of us, his children, are to be in service to him. We have no other purpose on this earth. We are not put here to see how much that we can acquire or possess, or achieve. No. We are made in his image, we receive and believe by grace through faith in God and our Lord Jesus Christ. As a child of God we are to serve him, Christ like, as Jesus did. The Bible tells us that we are all given different gifts by God our creator and that we are to be in service to him by using these gifts that he has given us. Using our gifts in his service is the key word here. Not for worldly fame or fortune, but in service unto God),

   Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

   Psalm 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

   Psalm 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

   Psalm 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

   Psalm 103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

   Psalm 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

   (God does have pitty on those who love him.
Verse 15 and 16 above tells you and I that we are but dust, and that our days are like grass; as a flower that rides above the blades of grass, we flourish but for a short time on this earth. Then like a wind that passes over that flower we are gone suddenly and are no more. His word tells us that we do not know how many days or hours that we have left. We must go about doing his work while we are still on this earth).

   Psalm 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

   Psalm 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

   Psalm 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

   Psalm 103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

   Psalm 103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

   (To those that remember to do his commandments, and those who keep his covenant, the Lord will rule over all of these his children.

   You and I will be blessed of the Lord, ALL his ministers that do his pleasure and God's will. The Lord will bless all of your works in all places, he will bless your soul. We are all his ministers. Go about serving God with the gifts that he has given you. Do it now! For the hour of our Lord's appearing is at hand brothers.
PRAISE GOD!!

God bless,
John Hipp
