2Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
2Timothy 3:9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
Brothers, can any child of God deny that we are now in the last days and that perilous times have come. Look around you my brothers, at all of these things that Timothy spoke of here in chapter 3. They are here now!
Timothy tells us here in verse 5 that there will be those who have a form of godliness, but that they will deny the power of God. From such people we are to turn away. There are many, many people that we see and know today, who act godly for a couple of hours on each week, but then turn back into the world on Monday and can scarcely be seen to be different from the world.
Brothers, we are to turn away and to separate ourselves from these, but to pray for them always. We pray that they will recognize the error of their ways, while there is still time. However, God tells us plainly here that we are to have no part with them while they walk ungodly.
Verses 6-9 tells us that just as Jannes and Jambres withstood the preaching of Moses in the desert. They never got to see the promised land because of their lack of faith. So too will men of corrupt minds this day, and silly women who are held captive, every learning but never growing in the knowledge of the truth of faith in our God.
Men and women of today are held captive by these which creep into houses, verse 6. Here God is telling us through his disciple Timothy that they will be led away into captivity.
The things in their houses which lead them away and hold them captive is the computer, the television, and the cell phone just to name a few.
Think about these statements made above in verses 1-9. Reread these verses until you are given understanding of the lateness of this hour in which we live today. Please ask the Holy Spirit of God to teach you the truth of his word.
God Bless you my brothers,
