OUR HEAVENLY WALK
2Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
2Corinthians 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Paul, teaches us here that even though we may be troubled on every side, we who know Jesus will not be distressed. Brothers, we have victory over all trouble and it will not cause us any distress, ever. Our trust is in the Lord our God.
He says that we are perplexed at times, perplexed meaning not sure how trouble may be resolved, but we know that it is God who watches over us, and delivers us from despair, we struggle not with earthly things, for our God is faithful and provides us our every need. His Holy Word tells us that he will never take His eyes off of us. It is His plan, and it is him who will deliver us always. We will grow in strength and faith each time that we are delivered.
He goes on to say that we will be persecuted at times, but that we will never be forsaken. He will always keep watch over us. We may even be cast down, but we will not be destroyed. He promises us this.
2Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2Corinthians 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Paul tells us here that though our earthly bodies, bearing the death of our Lord Jesus a little each day, that we have Jesus manifested in our bodies. Brothers, if Jesus tarries, all of our bodies will die one day, but Jesus and his manifested love will always sustain us every step of the way. Even though our earthly vessels called a body, will one day die, we who live inside this body will never know death. His Word tells us that to be absent from the body, is to be with the Lord.
2Corinthians 4:12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
2Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
2Corinthians 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
Praise God! Because we believe, we are victorious over this body and this world.
2Corinthians 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
Brothers, always give thanks day by day to the Lord, for he is merciful toward us his children. Be thankful continuously my brothers in Christ Jesus.
2Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
We are to faint not though our outward man, our bodies, die a little day by day. Yet, are we inwardly renewed day by day. Our souls, which Jesus bought and paid for in full, are renewed every day that we live in thanksgiving and in the love of God the Father.
2Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
God's glory inside us exceeds greatly beyond the light affliction, which we endured but for a moment. Praise God!
2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Brothers, the things of this world are temporary and they pass away. But, the things which are not seen are eternal. We can and should walk each day knowing that it is those things that we can not see with our earthly, bodily eyes that pass before us. We who know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior can see with our heavenly eyes those things which we now have and will have for all eternity.
We walk by faith not by sight, not by what we see, but rather by what we know by our faith. We as the sons of God, who are adopted into our heavenly family, go forward in faith. This is, OUR HEAVENLY WALK.
God Bless you my brothers,
