Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Brothers, Jesus speaking here with his disciples said to them. There be some who stand here, who shall not die, before they see the kingdom of God come with power.
Mark 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Jesus took Peter, James, and John up onto a high mountain, away from the others, and revealed himself to them.
Mark 9:3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
Jesus was clothed in raiment as white as snow. Whiter that anyone on earth could ever make them.
Mark 9:4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
Now, suddenly Moses and Elias appeared before Peter, James, and John. The two stood talking to Jesus, before the three disciples.
Mark 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
From a cloud which came close to them, God the Father said to these three disciples of Jesus. This is my beloved Son, hear him.
Wow! Do you think this got their attention. When we look back on verse one above. Hear what Jesus said to the disciples. Some among you shall not die before you see the kingdom of God.
Brothers, we are told in the Bible that we are the generation who saw the Jewish people return to Israel her homeland, and that that generation would be the generation which would see Jesus' return to receive us onto himself. We who are alive now is that generation.
Some of this generation has and will die before that day. But, that day is near and many, many, of us who know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savour will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and will meet Jesus in the air and accompany him back to Heaven.
Mark 9:8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Jesus allowed these three disciples Peter, James, and John to see him clothed in his snow white raiment. He allowed them to see him talking to Elias and Moses. Jesus allowed them to hear the voice of God his Father and our Father. God said to them, "This is my beloved Son; Hear Him."
Of these three disciples we know that John was caught up into heaven and shown the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Read the first sentence of Chapter one Verse one of the book of Revelation. It is Jesus' revelation, not John' as some teach. It was Jesus' revelation to John that he should reveal what he saw to us.
Brothers, Jesus is revealing himself to us in this day, more than at any time since the days that Jesus taught his disciples here on the high mountain. God the Father is speaking to us through His Holy Spirit right now, just as he spoke to the three disciples from the cloud of that day. God is saying to us, 'This is my beloved Son; 'Hear Him'.
Hear what God is saying to you. Watch for Jesus' soon appearing. We are that generation. He is speaking to many of you now, and is telling you to go about the work that He has given you to do. Do that work now my brothers. Prepare for His soon appearing.
God Bless you my brothers,
