WE HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT
Brothers, it is God speaking here through his servant Isiah. These ten verses not only shows us Isiah's time, here in the time before Christ, but also shows us our time in this present age in which we live. As always before you begin reading please pause as ask the Holy Spirit to teach you God's spoken truth here in Isiah 40:21-31.
Isaiah 40:21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
God tells us here that they, and we have been told from the beginning that He who sitteth upon the circle of the earth sees those who dwell here on earth. He says that man is as a grasshopper.
Isaiah 40:23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
Isaiah 40:24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
He tells us here that mankind will think himself more than he is, that He will bring the princes and judges of this lost world to nothing, for all that they are and that they have is vanity. The lost of this world both in Isiah's day and in our present day shall try to lift himself up, but he shall not be able to take root on this earth, and that God will blow upon them and they shall wither up and the whirlwind will take them away as stubble.
Brothers, take a moment to look back on all of the things that man has built on this earth and believed that it would stand forever. Has it not faded away, fallen to the ground, and been removed from habitation and sight. Only a few stones remain and they will not bear even the weight of man without crumbling to the ground as dust and ruble.
Now read the following verses where God is speaking to those who knew him in Isiah's day as well as those of us who know him in this present day.
Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
This world loves to think of themselves as being equal to God. But, they are less than nothing.
Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Look up, lift up your eyes to our God on high. He has created all things, and he brings them out in great number. He knows man by name, because of His greatness and might. Because God is strong in power not one child of God shall fail. We are told in His Holy Word that he knew our names before the foundation of the world. Praise God! We who know him have been called out form this world by Him, and we will forever be watched over by Him, and will forever be with Him where He is, and will never fail.
Isaiah 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Brothers God is not weary, and He will never faint.
Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
God gives us His power to overcome all things here on this earth. His strength is our strength and He gives that strength to each of us who know Him.
Isaiah 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Brothers, God also makes it very plain that those of us who know and wait upon the Lords soon appearing shall have their strength renewed. He tells us that we will mount up with wings as eagles and soar above this earth even while we are yet living upon this earth. He says that we shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.
When you feel week and faint, lift up your eyes unto the Lord our God and He who has called you out from this lost world, will lift you up and you will soar like an eagle.
Brothers, we are to soar. We are to speak boldly of the goodness of our Lord and Saviour. We have been called out by God the creator to complete our assignment. God has given us a job to do and we are to go about doing that job NOW.
God Bless you my brothers in Christ Jesus. Remember that you and I are the body of which Jesus is the head. We are many members, but one body. We are to work together. By performing each of our tasks that God has given us, the body who is the church will be able to complete our individual, and our joint assignments that God has ordained us to do from the time before we were born, before He created this earth he called us out from the world, and yes before the soon appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Please go about doing your assignment. If you like wisdom about your assignment then ask God to reveal it to you, and He will.
