THE WORD OF FAITH
Brothers, here in the 10th chapter of Romans we are shown how that our faith has made us whole. When we believed in our heart unto righteousness, and spoke with our mouth confession of our sins unto salvation. The lost is saved by these acts of faith. Follow me now as I attempt to show you how that the lost comes unto salvation from Paul's day, in our day, and even forever more.
ROMANS CHAPTER 10 Wednesday, January 27, 2016 10:05 AM
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Brothers, our heart's desire should also be as Paul's was here in his day, that Israel might be saved. Do not cease praying for God's people of Israel.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
They have always had a zeal for God under the law. But, because that many failed to recognize Jesus as the Messiah many continue in this day to look for their savior. We must pray for conviction to come upon them just as it did us. They are no more lost than we were lost my brothers.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
For Jesus Christ was, and is the end of seeking righteousness under the law. Jesus came to abolish the law, and he did so by his birth, death, and resurrection.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
The word is indeed near you, and even in your mouth, and in your heart. The word of faith which is preached unto you. You just need to hear God's word, then speak with your mouth the confession of your heart, and you shall be saved.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Those of you who have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please do this now while there is still time.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Who ever believes on Jesus shall not be ashamed when he appears for us his children the church. Many of the lost will be ashamed when he appears because they did not act upon their conviction when the Holy Spirit came unto them through the preaching of God's word.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
See here that we are told plainly that there is no difference in the Jew and the Gentile. For we all have the same Lord when we accept and know Jesus as our savior.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Brothers, a preacher is how that we first heard the truth of God's Holy Word. The hearing of His word is how we came to believe. If they have not heard His word how can they believe.
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
All have not believed upon the name of Jesus in this day, but we are to continue to be a witness of Jesus in this day just as Paul was in his day.
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Even though the sound of the word of God went into all the earth. The word will continue unto the ends of the world. We will never cease from preaching and teaching the truth of God's Holy Word.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
We gentiles have been called out to provoke the Jews to jealousy. We were not considered by the Jews as a people. But, God has so blessed us after we came to know Jesus that the Jewish people are jealous of our blessings from God.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
Indeed the statement made by Esaias was very bold. He said I was found by them that sought me not, I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
Brothers, we found Jesus at times when we were lost and not seeking Him. He was manifested unto us when we were not asking after him. This my friends is how that the Holy Spirit brought conviction to us when we were not seeking Jesus nor asking after him.
But, through the foolishness of preaching did our heart confess our sins by our mouth which spoke the truth of our being lost in sin. By faith are we saved. We are made righteous by the love of God and by the love of Jesus Christ who came to this world and died for our sins.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
Please continue to pray for the Jewish people by name just as you pray for the lost of this day.
If you are lost please accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Verses 9 and 10 above tells you how to know and accept Him. Also John 3:16.
God Bless you my brothers, and my soon to be brothers in Christ Jesus.
