COLOSSIANS 2

     Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
     We, (you and I) were burried with Jesus by baptism. We, (you and I) were raised from the dead as Jesus was, by God the Father, through faith in both God and Jesus Christ.

     Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
     Both you and I were dead in our sins of the flesh, but God has forgiven us our trespasses (sins), by raising you and I up from the dead with Jesus Christ. We know longer are dead in our sins, but rather now are alive in Jesus as He is alive.

     Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
     God nailed our traspasses and ordinances to the cross with Jesus, because the ordinances were against and contrary to us. He took them out of our way so that we might be made the righteousness of God by the death of Jesus our Lord and Savior. Our sins and those ordinances which were against us were nailed to the cross with Jesus. God's Holy Word tells us that Jesus destroyed ALL the works of the devil. By this we are victorious in Christ Jesus.
     Brothers, as you read God's Word take note of every time you see the word ALL. You will gain a new understanding when you see the word ALL. Brothers, there is no greater number than ALL. ALL includes you and I. Praise God!!!

     Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
     God made an open show of triump by spoiling the devils principalities and powers. Showing the world that the devil and his evil works have no power over us, for we died with Jesus. We are victorious over everthing that the devil would try to use or bring against us. We are new creatures and Christ like by His cleansing blood that He shed for each of us.

     Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

     Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
     Do not let any man judge you for any reason or about anything, for God the Father has already judged us and forgiven us, through His son Jesus Christ.

     Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
     Brothers, don't let any man make you feel like you have lost your reward. There are those who will attempt to rob you of things that you have both seen and known by being given God's wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. They do not have this, nor know this, but you both have and know this. He, that is man with his doctrines and his commandments which are not God's, goes about puffed up in the vanity of his fleshly mind seeking who he may deceive.

     Colossians 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
     We are the body of Christ our Lord. We are nourished and ministered to by the Holy Word of God. You and I are knit together by his Word for the increase of God unto our lives, and the lives of our brothers in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the head of us his body. We are the church.

     Colossians 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Colossians 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

     Colossians 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

     Colossians 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
     We live in this world, but we are not of this world and we are not subject to this worlds ordinances, but we are alive in Christ and we now belong to God who along with Jesus Christ will keep us in His hands.
     Brothers, do not touch, do not taste, do not handle the commandments and doctrines of men. These men along with their commands and doctrines will perish together. vs 21-22

     Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

     Colossians 2:4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

    Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

     Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
     Brothers, walk in God's truth and don't be deceived by man.

God Bless,
